YWoCC - Berkeley Rep The Ground Floor - June 19
I’m honored to be working with one of the top regional theaters in the United States. Young Writers of Color Collective will present four short plays in a special event during the 2019 Ground Floor Summer Residency at Berkeley Rep! I’ll be one of eight actors performing a staged reading of their plays. The reading is private and by invitation only, unless further updated here.
About Young Writers of Color Collective
Young Writers of Color Collective (YWoCC) is in its third year of existence. Founded by Reggie D. White, YWoCC aims to equip the next generation of playwrights with the tools necessary to give voice to their stories, struggles, and triumphs. Over the course of a year, selected high school students will participate in an intense study of playwriting, being taught and mentored by a range of professional Bay Area artists. Each student will be tasked with writing and polishing three original pieces as part of the apprenticeship - one of which will receive a professional staged reading in June 2019. Through spring 2019, students will develop a one-act play. Excerpts of their final piece will be performed in a special event during the 2019 Ground Floor Summer Residency Lab alongside the Bay Area’s most sought-after actors and directors.
